A Judgement Free Studio Serving Tacoma and Seattle Based Dancers

An approach to dance for all ages you won’t find anywhere else.

– Kevin Luo

“I used to have this idea that I wasn’t good enough to be seen or add my own personal touch or flavor to a piece. Working with Kristen has really made me realize that’s not how we should think about it. We all have something to offer at every step of our journey. So when I go to a class, I don’t stay in the back. I accept where I am in my journey and know I deserve to be seen and take up space. I feel a lot more deserving in dance spaces.”

Get personalized attention in small classes, so you can feel seen, understood, and confident in your dancing. You’ll have me as your dance mentor – giving you guidance and the exact steps you need to reach your dancing goals. The intimate size of the group creates a community where you feel supported and connected in and out of class.

I was so happy to find Kristen and the fact that she provided a safe place (mask friendly) for me to get 1:1 attention and grow in my dance practice and get back to what feels good (but also fail so hard each class hahaha) has been a true blessing.

"It’s been the best investment and my therapist and energy worker have both felt the difference since I started dancing again."

It's like she knew me BETTER than I knew myself. And THAT was what I've been missing.

This was the GREATEST investment I've made for ME in SO long. ZERO REGRETS!

Frequently Asked Questions

→ IS IT WORTH INVESTING MONEY INTO DANCE TRAINING AS AN ADULT?

If you're already spending money on drop-in classes every month but aren't seeing any progress, it's most likely because you're missing the foundation. I like to say "slow down, grow faster". If you do less but with more intention and focus, you'll feel the growth! Why waste money on drop-in classes and continue to feel frustrated with a lack of results? Invest in the personalized attention you need to find your breakthrough and start loving dance again.

→ WHAT IF I CAN'T AFFORD THE TIME AWAY FROM MY LIFE AND WORK TO COMMIT TO THIS?

If you aren't ready to prioritize your dance training, you won't get as much out of it. Dance is hard! It takes time and commitment to see progress. Social media makes dance seem easy and effortless, giving us false expectations, but that's not reality. Anytime you want to get better at something, you have to make time for it.

→ FEDERAL WAY IS A LONG DRIVE FROM SEATTLE. WHY SHOULD I COMMUTE THAT FAR?

Making time for the things that you want in life is important. It's not always convenient but if it's something that will help you, it's worth it to put in the time. You can even listen to my podcast on the way! When I asked one of my students - who drives 90 mins each way to get to class with me - why he thinks it's worth the drive, he said "Every time I commute, I get something different out of every class. It's like a mix of dance and therapy, emotionally and spiritually, with physical training too".

→ WHAT DOES A PRIVATE LESSON/SMALL GROUP TRAINING LOOK LIKE?

All classes begin with movement exploration, deep breathing, and grounding in the room. We start moving intuitively, helping everyone overcome anxiety and feel more confident in the space. Then you'll learn choreography, dance, and receive personalized feedback for improvements. In private lessons, I hold space for anything you want to talk about and work through. I want you to feel empowered and confident as you dance!

→ DO I NEED PREVIOUS DANCE EXPERIENCE?

Private lessons are available for all skill levels, even beginners. Small groups are placed together based on skill level, so you may have to wait for the next beginner group to become available but we'll find a place for you! In-person classes are the only setting where you need to have some experience.

→ WHAT IF I HAVEN'T DANCED IN 10+ YEARS?

You're my favorite person to work with! I love working with people like you who've taken a long break from dance and watch your eyes light up connected with your body and movement. Getting back in the studio is a really sensitive time, and can be filled with insecurities, perfectionism, and struggles to adapt to the world of adult dancing. I feel honored to walk people through these changes and guide them in their return to dance.

→ WHAT IF I WANT TO GET PERFORMING OPPORTUNITIES?

I love helping my students reach all their goals, including finding professional bookings! For me, it's all about connecting people and growing the dance community in the Seattle and Tacoma area. We can work together to enhance your performer mindset, understand audition prep and etiquette, create tapes and headshots, etc. I can't wait to be your hype person!
